Kindle Dust Cover

This little craft idea came to be the other day when I was dusting off my Kindle.  I don't have a thick cover for it yet and REFUSE to pay for one.  So for when it is here at the house I slide it into this little cover.

I was given several of my grandmother's hankies.  I had no idea what I could use them for.  It hit me that they are a good size for a Kindle cover.

I just folded in half and used heat tape on the edges.  Folded over the top and added a little Velcro to fasten it with.

Grandma loved to read so I thought this was a fitting idea to use for her hanky.

HomeMade Laundry Soap

This is all you need to make homemade laundry soap.   Washing Soda, Borax, Fels Naphtha Bar Soap(this is a heavy duty laundry soap bar) or ivory soap works also.  And the Oxy Clean is optional.  Grate your soap into little pieces.  In your food processor or blender, add soap, 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup borax.  Blend till soap is all broken up and mixed with powders.  Dump in large container with lid and add the optional Oxy Clean.  Mix well.
You only need to use 1 or 2 Tablespoons of this in the washer per load.  I just use the little scoop that comes in the Oxy Clean.  I choose to use the Oxy Clean since hubby is a mechanic and I need all the help I can get with his clothes.  lol    If you are worried about a build up in your washer from this, you can use vinegar in the rinse cycle.  I found a Downy Ball at a yard sale for 25 cents and I just put distilled vinegar in it and throw it in.  Clothes come out clean, you don't smell like a salad due to the vinegar.  Annnnnnnnd, hanging clothes on the line out side makes this an extra frugal deal!!!
\
I double my batch and put it in this pretty jar and the rest goes in Mason jars till I need it.  With just the two of us this will last us a loooooooong time!

My New Dryer!

Bet y'all thought you were gonna get to see a new appliance didn't ya?!
I love to hang clothes outside.  Not only do they smell good, it keeps the electric monster from eating my money.

The little tire under the clothes is a work in progress.

I really, really, really want an umbrella clothes line.  I plan to paint the tire, fill it with soil and flowers and insert the pole to the umbrella line in it.

I will get this place fixed up!!!  This I swear!!!!!

Potting Table

I re purposed an old homemade wood doghouse to use has a potting table.   Still need to select a paint color for it.  I am thinking towards a bright yellow.

I love how I can shove the ole wheelbarrow right inside of it also!
