Repurposed Kings Island Tickets

I've had these tickets for about a week.  Never got around to throwing them away, just left them in a bowl on the table.

Got to looking at them yesterday and just knew there was something I could do with them instead of just pitching the out.  Then the idea hit me!!!

With just a little bit of glue, ribbon and scrap book paper..................

You get home made gift tags!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite part of it is since I had everything at home it cost me........$0 !!!!

You can make these for any occasion!  Also one of the cards is made from a prepaid cell phone card.

Cloud Dough

I came across this recipe a few months ago on the Internet.  Cloud Dough.  The frugal version of Moon Dough.

I have priced the Moon Dough before and found it to be a little pricey for my taste.   So when my granddaughter was getting bored I whipped up a batch of Cloud Dough and it has kept her busy for 2 days now!  She loves it!!  Super easy and cheap to make!!!!!!

Cloud Dough

8 cups flour
1 cup baby oil

Put in a rubber container and mix well.

Play with all day!!!!!

Repurposed Walker Caddy

Picture if you will this item being twice as wide as you see it in the picture.  It was a hanging caddy off of my grandmother's walker.

Currently I do need a walker or a walker caddy so I decide to play a  little with it.

I cut the caddy in half and closed the edge using Heat n Bond Hem.  Reattached the ties for handles and I made myself a small quilted tote to carry my bible in for church.

Not as fancy as some of the bible holders you buy, but allot cheaper!!!!

I think she would approve of what I did with it!!!

Kindle Dust Cover

This little craft idea came to be the other day when I was dusting off my Kindle.  I don't have a thick cover for it yet and REFUSE to pay for one.  So for when it is here at the house I slide it into this little cover.

I was given several of my grandmother's hankies.  I had no idea what I could use them for.  It hit me that they are a good size for a Kindle cover.

I just folded in half and used heat tape on the edges.  Folded over the top and added a little Velcro to fasten it with.

Grandma loved to read so I thought this was a fitting idea to use for her hanky.

HomeMade Laundry Soap

This is all you need to make homemade laundry soap.   Washing Soda, Borax, Fels Naphtha Bar Soap(this is a heavy duty laundry soap bar) or ivory soap works also.  And the Oxy Clean is optional.  Grate your soap into little pieces.  In your food processor or blender, add soap, 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup borax.  Blend till soap is all broken up and mixed with powders.  Dump in large container with lid and add the optional Oxy Clean.  Mix well.
You only need to use 1 or 2 Tablespoons of this in the washer per load.  I just use the little scoop that comes in the Oxy Clean.  I choose to use the Oxy Clean since hubby is a mechanic and I need all the help I can get with his clothes.  lol    If you are worried about a build up in your washer from this, you can use vinegar in the rinse cycle.  I found a Downy Ball at a yard sale for 25 cents and I just put distilled vinegar in it and throw it in.  Clothes come out clean, you don't smell like a salad due to the vinegar.  Annnnnnnnd, hanging clothes on the line out side makes this an extra frugal deal!!!
\
I double my batch and put it in this pretty jar and the rest goes in Mason jars till I need it.  With just the two of us this will last us a loooooooong time!

My New Dryer!

Bet y'all thought you were gonna get to see a new appliance didn't ya?!
I love to hang clothes outside.  Not only do they smell good, it keeps the electric monster from eating my money.

The little tire under the clothes is a work in progress.

I really, really, really want an umbrella clothes line.  I plan to paint the tire, fill it with soil and flowers and insert the pole to the umbrella line in it.

I will get this place fixed up!!!  This I swear!!!!!

Easy Peasy Candy Dish

While at my "other home" aka...Good Will store, I came up with a very simple idea for a home made candy dish.

I took a small pudding cup (may a sorbet cup, not sure) and a pretty little bowl.  Use any color you like, I just prefer blue.

Add a little bit of E6000 glue and before you know it, a cute little candy dish!!

I paid less then a dollar for both items together.

Made a couple of them for my market booth.

I am off to the wonderful land of yard sales!!!  Have a wonderful day everyone!

Cute Soap Dish

Again, this is another project I saw somewhere else in blog land.

Take a small saucer and a cute little candle stick holder.  Add a little E6000 glue, which by the way I LOVE this stuff!!!    I glued the saucer to the candle holder, after sitting over night you have this....

Is this not the cutest little soap dish you have ever seen?!?!?!  I loooove it!!    So simple and so cheap!!  Both pieces cost me .25 each at a yard sale and I already had the glue!

Enjoy your day folks and I will visit with you soon!

PROJECTS!!!!!!

We just opened a booth at one of our local flea markets and I have been very swamped with making things for that.  I did have the fore sight to grab the camera and take pictures so I have almost a weeks worth of blogging!!  GO ME!!!!!

I get a lot of my ideas from trolling around other blogs.  I am also really bad at not remembering where I get my inspiration from, so if it is you, then a big Thank You!!  I will try to remember to write these things down in the future.  But lets face it folks, I am not that organized so don't hold your breath on that one.  lol

This is a small pile of items I used for one my my projects.  Wooden picture frames, skull decals, vintage bias tape, picture hangers  and paint.   What did I do with all this?  The answer is very simple.  Drumroll please!.................

Hair barrett holders!!!!!   My daughter likes them.  I am putting them in my booth to sell.

I will have more for you tomorrow!   Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

New Bathroom in the Works

For the past few days it has been kind of messy around here.

We are in the process of remodeling the bathroom.  When we took out the old shower we discovered an unknown leak under the shower and the toilet.  Requiring replacement of the half of the floor.

We aren't rushing this since we want it to look good and we both work so we can't spend all day on it like I would like to.

Here are a few pictures of work in process:

There is still some minor things the shower needs done and then we will be pulling out the sink to put in the new one.  Along with painting and new stone floor, I think it will look wonderful!!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Zipper Bracelets

I have 100's, and I really do mean 100's of zippers at my house.

Back in the 60's  my great grandmother owned a 5 & 10 store in Indianapolis.  When she closed the store she packed all her inventory away in the chance she might reopen one day.  After she passed away, my grandmother had all this stuff moved to her attic.  After grandma passed away it all came to my dad and his sister.  No one had a use for allot of the stuff and me being the person I am, can't say know to a freebie when offered to me!  Which by the way, my husband really hates at times, but he is very good natured about it since he knows he can't when....lol

I was playing around with things the other day and this is what I hit upon.

Sorry, I completely spaced taking pics of the process...I just glued ribbon to the cloth part of the zipper.  Added Velcro to fasten with and you have some cute kiddie bracelets.

My grand babies love them.

Working towards getting a flea market booth and trying  to stock up inventory on repurposed  items for it.  I will show more when that is ready.

So what do you think about the bracelets?  Be honest....I can take it!

Have a great day!

My Goodness!

Just realized I have been AWOL for a little while.

I have been very busy trying to build inventory for an Esty shop and booth at a flea market I want to open up.

My dream has always been to work from home.  My job is become extremely stressful and it has gotten to the point I just want to cry rather then go in any more.

I find working with adults with developmental disibilites to be very rewarding and really love what I do.  Its the company I work for that is the problem.  So not wanting to just up and abandon my clients, I figure I would find a way to work from home and maybe just work partime if that much.

I will be posting pictures later this week.  I just want everything ready to go before I do.

You folks have a great day.  I am getting off here to have a wonderful lunch with hubby.  Who, I also hardly see anymore.....but trying to fix that also!

Quicky Easter Decoration

If you have these:

You can make this!!!!

All you need is a soap dispenser and gel clings.  Peel off the label on the soap and add your  cling!  So easy it is scary!!!  Also the vinyl  ones work just as well.  If you want, you can leave the back label on, I just got pull happy and took it all off.

Hopefully I will have another project for you soon!!!!

Hurry up Spring!!!!!!

Or should I say hurry up warm weather!!!

I just came up with 2 more (want to do) projects and this cold wet weather is killing me!!!!

I actually considered taking over the unfinsihed playroom but then again you never know when a grandbaby is gonna show up and want to play.  And being the wonderful mawmaw I am, I just can't say no.

ACTUALLY!!!!!  Several will be here this weekend but I might get by with next week.  Hmmmmmm, need to think about that....

The first project I have what I need.  The second one, I need to shopping  out on the family farm to get things.  My parents are gonna start hiding when I come out there...lol

I believe this summer as I yard sale I will gather winter projects so I am not sitting idle for half a year.  It is driving me crazy!!!

Face Book

I just started a page on Face Book.  It is called...what else?  Coffee, Clutter and Chocolate!!

It is an open group so if you have a second, stop on by and take a peek.  Please feel free to leave FRIENDLY suggestions here at any time.  I am so new to this that I am walking around blind.  But I will get it figured out!!

A Review!!

Today I want to do something a little different.

I want to share with you one of my FAVORITE products!!

I just love Resolve Spray and Wash!!  With 13 grandchildren, I have used this product to get all sorts of stains out of their clothes.  From blood to chocolate.  My better half works in a garage and can ruin a t shirt in one day.  I have been lucky enough to make them last longer and look nicer with this product.

DISCLAIMER:  I am not getting paid for this review.  No one asked me to do it, just did it on my own.  This is just my two cents about something I use in my own home.

Is It Really Frugal?

I love to blog hop!  You can find me all over the place in blog land as soon as the house work is finished.

A lot of the ones I read are ways to be very frugal and saving money.  Some of the ideas are good while I really question the frugalness of others.

Examples:  May your fabric softener sheets....I just use vinegar in an old Downy Ball and tennis balls in the dryer.  ANNNNND  I very seldom use the dyer anyways.  I hang up everything.

See what I mean?  I don't have to my fabric softener at all!

I make my own bread.  Winter I use a bread machine, summer ?I like to make it and put it out in the hot sun (covered of course) to rise on its own.  This way I don't have loaves stocked in the freezer.

I can buy a .95 cent bottle of body wash cheaper then I can make it at home.   Even almost free if I have a coupon.

I NEVER buy coupons.  I can get them free and I think paying for them kind of defeats the purpose of saving money.

What do you think?

Pictures!!!!!

The child's picnic table was at my grandmother's house.  I haven't decided if I want to paint it or not.

This long old school desk was another dresser my parents gave me that also was in the basement.

I found this milk can in the barn and will be making it all pretty.

If I remember right, this table use to sit in my great grandmothers house.  I will be cutting a little off the legs and cleaning up to use as a coffee table.

This end table use to belong to my grandmother.  Stripping off old varnish and junking the 70's handles.

This Warm Morning stove was in the basement.  Cleaning it up and going to use it in the house.  I want to paint it but hubby is trying to put his foot down about it.  We will see later who wins this one.

This large blue cabinet was my mother's and she gave it to me for Christmas one year.  Still trying to decide what color to repaint it.  I know it is over 100 years old.

This dresser isn't an antique.  Belong to my other grandmother.  Thinking of painting it and changing out the handles.  Not sure on it yet either.

And here is a picture of my two little babies.  Salem and Aggie.  Salem is the one on the left with the attitude on his face.  I adopted them from our local shelter.

So can not wait for warm weather.  I also have a metal bird cage on a stand in the attic that use to belong from another great grandmother.  Just waited on a time not to have crawling little ones in the house because it is top heavy.

Sorry about the dark pictures.  Still learning how the camera works!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!!!

Bummed Out

Really got bummed out the other day.  I was all excited to start taking pictures and got things all set up.

Only to find that my camera had decided to just up and quit on me all together.  It had been acting up for a few months and just when I needed it, it let me down.

Off to Walmart I went to look at new ones.  After falling over from the prices,(I am a real tight wad) I found one that is on clearance for $149.00.  I will be going back to get it as soon as the check book grants permission.

Don't need one with all the fancy bells and whistles, just easy enough for me to operate.

Hope you have a wonderful day.  And I do PROMISE that pictures will happen here.  Just bear with me a little longer!!!!!

Time Flies When You are NOT Having Fun!!

It has been a rough  past few weeks and I am just now getting back here.

It started when our beloved horse Scarlet went down and we lost her that evening.  We were accused of neglect of our horses by a deranged woman and thank goodness the county officials said otherwise.

After dealing with all that,  (and believe me it was AWFUL!!!)  hubby and I both came down with the worst chest colds to hit us since in forever.  During all this I forgot to pay the cable bill so they decided to not allow me access to the Internet for a little bit.  But that problem has been corrected as you can see.

My youngest that was living with us decided to move with her sister out of town.  And I can't believe she felt the need to take my three grand babies with her!!!!  I had to take one day for a lil pity party for just me, I don't handle quiet, empty houses well at all.

But I am happy to say that I am back and I did find camera batteries so I plan to spend the afternoon taking pics and working on getting my Esty shop ready to roll.  More on that later!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!!

Quicky I am Back Post

Been away for a little bit.  Darn bug has been swooping thru the house like a mad man.  For a while I dodged the bullet but I guess all the hours of cleaning up poop and puke (gotta love grandbabies)  spraying enough enough Lysol to choke a horse and sanitizing any thing that wasn't nailed down caught up with me.

Fully recovered and excited to get busy.

New batteries are being bought TOMORROW!!!!!  And I got some cool antiques and vintage items from my folks to show you.  You'll get to see alot of before pictures and a few after!  Most of my after pics will have to wait till warmer weather so I can get outside to paint them.  But still very excited!!!

I am also in the process of opening an ESTY store.  That is work in progress.  Right now thinking of selling vintage items for other peoples crafts.  I thought about doing EBay but every time I do, I run into it costing be more in fees then it is worth it to me.  I might change my mind on that later.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will be back in a few!!!!

Positive Thinking

Today is the beginning!  I am trying very hard to think positively.

I feel that this will be a banner year here on the farm.
No, I do not live on a farm, grew up on one though!  I am trying to decorate my home like an old farmhouse and I figured with 2 dogs, 2 cats,2 horses(they don't live here) and the container garden I am going to put out this Spring, I can call it what ever I want..lol

I bet you are all saying, "when is she gonna post pictures?!"  Answer:  As soon as I find those batteries!!  If not found by next payday, I will get them then.  I PROMISE!!!!

Back to my banner year....For some reason it just feels better.  Hubby might be getting a chance to do all mechanic work for a company here.  I feel really good about my job and the direction it is going.  And my daughter that lives here (TEMPORARY!!!) stated college a couple of  days ago and just got a phone call to start a job at one of our local factories.

Not much to post about today folks.  I believe my Cleaning Fairy moved away and left no forwarding address.  So I have to do it my self.

Have a wonderful day!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday season.  I know we did and I can honestly say that I am glad it is over and am looking forward to the rest of the year.

We stayed in last night and I wasn't even awake to see the new year come in but it was here with no trouble when I woke up.

Still working on getting things organized like I wanted.

And guess what!  I at least found the charger for my camera batteries.  That is one step closer!  See, I told you was gonna do it.....
